High Adventure Activities. During the week, cadets will also have a few unique opportunities that we want to highlight:
- High Risk Entry Facility training. The first-year students will have a career orientation session where they experience the training that law enforcement and military personnel go through in learning how to enter high risk situations. This training is done through the REACT Center. It involves simulated munitions with safety gear for all participants. We have done the HREF for multiple years now and it is always a highlight of the week.
- Rappelling. The Wisconsin Cadet Academy students will participate in rappelling under the guidance of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Adventure Program.
These opportunities are unique to each school and have been operated safely for many years. However, parents may choose to opt their cadet out of these events if they wish. To do so, please contact Lt Col Josh Risler at joshua.risler@wicap.us.
