Wisconsin Wing Summer Encampment

The defining cadet experience!

Day 2: Growing and Learning!

Amazing Day 2 at Wisconsin Encampment! The cooler (and hazy) weather made the day more comfortable for all the outdoor activities. Cadets were out on Volk Field ANGB and the woods of Mill Bluff State Park, for basic rocketry, knot tying and shelter building.

WBS started their day with a ‘brisk jog’ for PT and continued the day with important classes in Core Values and Stress Management. They will probably say that the Aerospace Education lesson of building and launching rockets was the best!

After Day 0 when cadets got ‘on base’ and then Day 1 of ‘team building’ in Flights and Squadrons, Day 2 was a great opportunity to have some really special experiences to grow and learn together.

CDC started their day with PT & Drill, and after breakfast went to Mill Bluff State Park with Lt. Miller and Sgt. Kowalczyk for a great lesson in Emergency Services that ended with cadets building an emergency shelter in 20 minutes!

WCA male cadets were out of barracks for PT at 0530 (proud to be out before the female cadets!), Their day included challenging learning about Servant Leadership, Critical Thinking and Writing skills.

Tonight we recognized Honor Cadets and Flight Awards:
Wisconsin Cadet Academy: Cadet Master Sergeant Hegland
Cadet Development Course: Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Joyce
Wisconsin Basic School: Cadet Airman Rank

Spirit Award: Delta Flight
Honor Flight for WI Basic School: Charlie Flight
